Community(DAVIS AND OGDEN) Increase the number of nontrad students visiting the center by promoting and educating them about services available through the Nontrad Center. The outreach committee will promote our Nontrad Center and our services to students at both the Ogden and Davis Campus through tabling, flyers, and outreach. Nontrad students will learn about the Nontrad Center and other departments and services including child care, basic needs resources, Smart Start, computer lab, etc.The number of students visiting and interacting with the Nontrad Center.This will come from starfish Enter Use of Result
Community(DAVIS AND OGDEN)Provide activities in the Nontrad Center on a weekly basis to create an engagement opportunity for students to gather and socialize with each other. The Outreach Committee will create interactive activities in the Nontrad Center for students to participate in on weekly basis.Students will feel connected and involved in the Nontrad Center. Participation numbers will be tracked and students will be asked for input on the activity and if they felt it helped them feel more connected to the Nontrad Center.We had 670 interactions and 40 department contacts. LearningAll hourly employees will complete the online Canvas training as part of the onboarding process.Hourly employees will have access to the Canvas course to complete modules related to their job in the Nontrad Center. Areas covered in the training include opening and closing procedures, FERPA, evacuation procedures, and other areas related to their specific job duties. Hourly employees will understand their job duties and roles as an employee in the center. As hourly employees complete the online training, they will be required to complete a quiz in Canvas with a passing score of 80%.Every hourly employee completed the canvas training. Every hourly employee completed the canvas training. Updates and additional information was added as employees went through the training and we will continue to asses the needs of the department and training needed for employees to improve the process and add more topics.
Access(DAVIS) Advertise and offer evening and weekend online advising and peer mentor services.Use online tools, such as "Meet Me", to allow students to view available hours and schedule appointments that work best for them.Students will be able to gather the same information and resources from peer mentoring as the students who are able to come in person. Appointment attendance numbers, along with a short survey, will provide results on if students utilize the services and if they are satisfied with the format of these appointments. We had 10 online advising appointments and 3 peer mentor appointments. Overall students were satisfied with the format for online appointments and the flexibility of the times they can meet with our staff. Enter Use of Result
LearningChild care parents will complete an online orientation through CANVAS prior to the start of the semester.Parents will have access to Canvas course to complete modules on topics necessary for attendance in the Hourly Child Care Center. Policies covered in the orientation include safety, attendance, payments, and other areas required for attendance. Child care parents will understand policies for attendance in the child care center. As parents complete the online modules, they will be required to complete a quiz in Canvas with a passing score of 80%.All parents completed the online orientation. This process is much more efficient to ensure parents understand the polices prior to their child attending. Some modifications are needed to adequately address some new areas we have added in the handbook.
AccessStudents signed up for a Smart Start appointment will be given a short video on their topic selections to enhance their experience during the appointment. Videos will be created on Smart Start appointment topics and will include core information necessary for appointment discussion.Students will have a better understanding of the topics prior to their appointment.Peer Mentors will ask questions during the Smart Start appointment about how the video prepared them to apply for FAFSA and if it helped before their appointment. We created on video and then it was decided to move to a streamlined process for naming appointments with youcanbookme and to make it easier to meet with not only peer mentors but the advisor as well.
