DiversityCPSC will clarify and document departmental policies and initiatives regarding Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI).An internal working group will be established to address EDI issues within CPSC, including documentation.N/AProgress toward completion and mutual approval of a diversity/social justice statement and related policies/procedures will indicate success. The CPSC Social Justice Task Force (SJTF) was formed in late fall, 2021. Emphasis has been focused more on staff training than on policy documents at this time. One staff meeting per month has been reserved for this group to provide training to staff on EDI-related topics. The SJTF will continue to clarify CPSC needs related to EDI issues and proceed accordingly to include additional training, formalized statement(s), policy documents, or other initiatives.
LearningThe role of peer support within CPSC will be defined, developed, and activated in an in-person context.Activities of Mental Health Peer Advocates and those taking place in the Peer Support Room will be determined and implemented.Peer Mental Health Advocates and general students will be aware of the peer support opportunities available through CPSC.Number of activities, hours, and students served by peer support initiatives will be tracked.Experience and data confirms that mental health peer support initiatives do not meet Weber State students' needs. In-person efforts through the Wildcat Support Network and online efforts through Togetherall have been underutilized. CPSC will shift away from mental health peer support initiatives due to lack of sufficient engagement. Outreach activities will be covered by new MSW interns rather than Psychology undergraduates. We will not renew our contract with the Togetherall online mental health peer support community. Efforts may be redirected toward providing mental health awareness training to existing peer mentoring communities.
