STUDENT AFFAIRS DIVISION
GOALS FOR 2002-2003
1. Use the “five column” model to ensure an outcome based assessment process for each department/program. This will be preparation toward developing a divisional report for accreditation.
2. Utilize technology to enhance each student’s educational experience, serve each student’s on-line educational needs and improve delivery of service.
New initiatives will include:
Preparing for and understanding the Banner system
Introducing “Ad Astra”
Revamping the wild card
Further improving the use of the web
3. The Dean of Students, in cooperation with all Student Affairs units, will develop a comprehensive written plan for delivering services to students, both graduates and undergraduates, on the Davis Campus.
4. Ensure that each department’s service delivery, programming and hiring reflect the needs of a diverse population.
5. Continue to work toward creating community at Weber State University through programs and activities that promote a positive campus image and esprit d’ Corps.

EXPECTATIONS FOR 2002-2003
2002-2003
1. Each department/program will help in actively supporting and utilizing divisional services including housing and food service.
2. Each department/program will continue to prudently manage its resources.
3. An advisory board will be formed for each Student Affairs Department/Program and, where relevant, a task force will also be formed for specific programs.
4. Annual departmental/program assessments will be based on national best practices.
5. Services for Multicultural Students, Services for Students with Disabilities, Services for Women Students, and the Diversity Center will have primary responsibility for programs which enhance the retention of students belonging to these special populations.
6. Department/program heads will be responsible for maintaining and regularly updating their department/program web sites.
7. Each department/program head will be responsible to ensure that all staff members achieve computer competencies required for their positions.
