MISSION STATEMENT

The mission and purpose of Services for International Students is tow fold; to enhance the academic, social and cultural life of international students at Weber State University, and to broaden the international climate of Weber State University and the Ogden community.

Services for International Students provides support services to assist international students in their academic and social adjustment to Weber State University, Ogden, Utah and the United States.  In particular, it provides counseling and advisement to help international students maintain their legal non-immigrant status in the United States and to increase their understanding of the American educational system and the social and cultural customs of the United States and the local area.  IN providing these services, Services for International Students hopes to help international students adapt to college life at Weber State University, obtain skills to become successful students, and return home as highly skilled, bi-cultural people prepared to live and work in and ever changing interdependent world.

In order to help Weber State University and its environs keep pace with a rapidly changing world, Services for International Students provides workshops, cultural programming and information on current international issues and events to students, faculty, staff and the Ogden community.  The Center also promotes study abroad for American students and encourages faculty and staff exchanges to further develop the University’s international atmosphere.
